About CartiNova

CartiNova was created to provide a more advanced, minimally invasive approach to joint and spine care focused on healing, function, and long-term mobility, rather than surgical intervention alone.

Our Philosophy

At CartiNova, we believe regenerative joint and spine care should:

Address underlying tissue health—not just symptoms

Be precise, image-guided, and minimally invasive

Use objective data to guide recovery and outcomes

Be personalized to each individual’s anatomy, goals, and activity level

This philosophy informs every aspect of the CartiNova regenerative care model.

Meet Our Founder
& Medical Director

Trevor Turner, MD, RMSK

Regenerative Orthopedics • Sports Medicine • Performance Longevity

Dr. Trevor Turner is a nationally recognized physician specializing in regenerative orthopedics, biologic therapies, and performance-focused musculoskeletal care. As the founder of CartiNova™, he treats elite athletes, high-performance professionals, and active adults seeking minimally invasive alternatives to orthopedic surgery.

Dr. Turner’s work bridges sports medicine, regenerative biologics, precision diagnostics, and recovery science, forming the clinical foundation of the CartiNova system.

Elite Training & Clinical Background
Leader in Orthobiologics & Laser Regeneration
A New Vision for Regenerative Care

Dr. Turner attended UT Southwestern Medical School, completed a General Surgery internship at UCSF, and finished his Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he participated in ACL injury research with the American Sports Medicine Institute.

He also holds advanced fitness and performance certifications through EXOS, the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), and CrossFit, bridging elite athletic training with clinical medicine. In addition, Dr. Turner completed a Precision Medicine Fellowship with Wild Health, further deepening his expertise in data-driven, personalized care.

Dr. Turner then spent four years training under Dr. James Andrews at the Andrews Orthopedics & Sports Medicine Institute, caring for professional and collegiate athletes, Olympic competitors, military special operations personnel, and active adults seeking elite-level musculoskeletal care.

Following his tenure with Dr. Andrews, Dr. Turner was recruited as Director of the Center for Orthobiologics at Georgia Bone & Joint, where he helped establish an on-site biologics laboratory and refine clinical protocols for:

  • Platelet-rich plasma (PRP)
  • Bone marrow concentrate (BMC)
  • Adipose-derived regenerative therapies
  • Emerging biologic and regenerative technologies

This role positioned him at the forefront of fractional laser cartilage regeneration, a core technology underlying the CartiNova platform.

Dr. Turner founded CartiNova to create an orthopedic precision medicine ecosystem that goes beyond treating symptoms to understand why joint and spine problems develop in the first place. At the center of this approach is the CartiNova BioProfile, which integrates whole genome sequencing, advanced biomarkers, imaging, and lifestyle data to reveal the unique drivers of inflammation and tissue breakdown in each individual.

These insights are analyzed through an artificial intelligence–guided clinical consultant, allowing therapies to be precisely tailored to the patient, not the diagnosis, so care is personalized, proactive, and focused on optimizing long-term musculoskeletal health and durability.
